Center for Culturally Responsive Practice becomes The Center on Culture, Race, & Equity
Did you know that The Center on Culture, Race, & Equity at Bank Street College of Education used to work under a different name? We used to be called the Center for Culturally Responsive Practice.
Our new name reflects our commitment to creating equitable and just learning environments, so that children of all backgrounds can thrive and realize their full potential. This name change allows us to explore more deeply the intersection of culture, race, and equity as it plays out in classrooms across the United States, and beyond. We will continue to use strengths-based, culturally responsive practice as a foundational method for improving outcomes for all students. Please read more about the significance of our name change, and the connection to our work here.
The Center will continue to operate in its current structure, and your contacts will remain unchanged. Other than these visible changes, there is no change in affiliation and no change in staff.
